About our privacy policy

DailyCompress B.V. cares greatly about your privacy. We therefore only process data that we need for (improving) our services and handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.


This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services provided by DailyCompress B.V. on it. The effective date for the validity of these conditions is 02/16/2023. With the publication of a new version, all previous versions cease to be valid.


This privacy policy describes what information we collect about you, what this information is used for, and with whom and under what conditions this information may be shared with third parties. We also explain how we store your information, how we protect your information from misuse, and what rights you have with regard to the personal information you provide to us.

About data processing

Webshop software

Shopify

Our webshop has been developed using Shopify software. Personal data that you make available to us for the purpose of our services will be shared with this party. Shopify has access to your data to provide us with (technical) support; they will never use your data for any other purpose. Based on the agreement we have concluded with them, Shopify is obliged to take appropriate security measures. These security measures consist of the application of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Shopify is a certified processor of credit card data. Shopify uses cookies to collect technical information regarding your use of the software; no personal data is collected and/or stored. Shopify reserves the right to share collected data within its own group in order to further improve its services. Shopify takes into account the applicable legal retention periods for (personal) data. The EU/US Privacy Shield applies, your data may be processed in the United States.

Web hosting

Hostnet

We purchase web hosting and email services from Hostnet. Hostnet processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata about the use of the services. This is not personal data. Hostnet has taken appropriate technical and additional measures to prevent the loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. Hostnet is bound by a confidentiality agreement.

Email and mailing lists

Klaviyo & Hostnet

Our website uses Klaviyo, a third party that handles email traffic from our website and sends any newsletters. All confirmation emails you receive from our website and web forms are sent via Klaviyo's servers. Klaviyo will never use your name and email address for its own purposes. At the bottom of every email sent automatically via our website, you will see an “unsubscribe” link. If you click on this link, you will no longer receive emails from our website. This may seriously reduce the functionality of our website! Your personal data is stored securely by Klaviyo. Klaviyo uses cookies and other internet technologies that provide insight into whether emails are opened and read. Klaviyo reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, to share information with third parties.

 

Hostnet

We use the services of Hostnet for our regular business email traffic. This party has taken appropriate technical and supportive measures to prevent misuse, loss, and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. Hostnet does not have access to our mailbox, and we handle all our email traffic.

Yotpo

We value your privacy and the information you consent to share in connection with our SMS marketing service. We use this information to send you SMS messages (for your order, including reminders when you leave the checkout), SMS marketing offers, and transactional texts, including requests for reviews from us. Opt-in data and consent for SMS messages are not shared with third parties, with the exception of messaging partners, for the purpose of enabling and executing our SMS messaging program.

Opt-in data and consent for text messages will not be shared with third parties, except for messaging partners, to enable and operate our SMS program.

Our website uses cookies to track which items you have placed in your shopping cart and when you have abandoned your order. This information is used to determine when to send reminder messages via SMS.

Klarna processes your name, address and place of residence details and your payment details such as your bank account or credit card number. Klarna has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Klarna reserves the right to use your data to further improve its services and, in that context, to share (anonymized) data with third parties. In the event of a request for deferred payment (credit facility), Klarna shares personal data and information relating to your financial position with credit rating agencies. All the above-mentioned safeguards with regard to the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Klarna's services for which they engage third parties. Klarna does not retain your data for longer than is permitted by law.

Purpose of data processing

General purpose of processing

We use your data exclusively for the purpose of providing our services. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the assignment you receive. If you share data with us and we use this data to contact you at a later time, other than at your request, we will ask for your explicit consent. Your data will not be shared with third parties, other than to comply with accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound to confidentiality on the basis of the agreement between them and us or a legal obligation.

Automatically collected data

Data that is automatically collected by our website is processed for the purpose of further improving our services. This data (e.g., your IP address, web browser, and operating system) is not personal data.

Cooperation with tax and criminal investigations

In certain cases, DailyCompress B.V. may be required to share your data in connection with tax or criminal investigations by government authorities. In such cases, we are obliged to share your data, but we will oppose this within the limits of the law.

Retention periods

We retain your data for as long as you are a customer of ours. This means that we retain your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you demonstrate this to us, we will also consider this as a request to be forgotten. This also means that we will not retain your data for longer than two years from the last point of contact of the transaction, unless there is a legal justification for doing so. Based on applicable administrative obligations, we are required to retain invoices containing your (personal) data, so we will retain this data for as long as the limited period applies. However, employees do not have access to your customer profile and documents that we have created in response to your order.

Your rights

Under applicable Dutch and European legislation, you, as a data subject, have certain rights with regard to the personal data processed by or on behalf of us. Below, we explain what these rights are and how you can exercise them. In principle, to prevent misuse, we will only send copies and duplicates of your data to your email address already known to us. If you wish to receive the data at a different email address or, for example, by post, we will ask you to identify yourself. We keep a record of completed requests; in the case of a request to be forgotten, we administer anonymized data. You will receive all copies and copies of data in the machine-readable data format that we use within our systems. You have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority at any time if you suspect that we are using your personal data in an incorrect manner.

You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation to the email address we have on file that the data will no longer be processed until you lift the restriction.

Right to portability

You always have the right to have the data that we process (or have processed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you, processed by another party. You can submit a request to our contact person for privacy matters. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you copies of all data about you that we have processed or that has been processed on our behalf by other third-party processors to the email address known to us. In all likelihood, we will no longer be able to continue providing our services in the unlikely event that the secure linking of data files can no longer be guaranteed.

Right to object and other rights

In certain cases, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of DailyCompress B.V. If you object, we will immediately cease processing the data pending the resolution of your objection. If your objection is justified, we will provide you with copies and/or reports of the data we process (or have processed) and then permanently cease processing. You have the right not to be subject to an individual decision or profiling. We do not process your data in a way that this right applies. Google Analytics

Cookies from the American company Google are placed via our website as part of the “Analytics” service. We use this service to track and receive reports on how visitors use the website. This processor may be required to provide access to this data on the basis of laws and regulations. We collect information about your surfing behavior and share this data with Google. Google may link this information to other data sets that are created and thus track your movements on the internet. Google uses this information to offer targeted advertisements (Adwords) and other Google services and products.
